Adidas Logo

Adidas Logo design

The Adidas logo went through a number of changes from the first creation. When the first "trifold" was designed it was selected based upon the idea that each "block" represented one of the three lands, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Than the 3 crossing lines were to signify diversity.

The logo went through a revision when they wanted to expand to a clothing. They wanted to keep the same 3 bar logo, but kept the idea more simple but just as recognizable.  When they designed the next logo, they wanted to represent the struggle that athletes go through by the suggested use of climbing a mountain.

The simple ideas that Adidas used to create its logos allows designers freedom, while being able to stick to the company basic needs. Personally, I find myself sometimes trying to create to complex of logos or designs. When sometimes it might be best to stick to the simple designs or basic images.

  2. I think that this is interesting considering that we are focusing on logoing in my GDII class. We were talking about how logos demand change with modernism. Logos have to keep up with the styles and generations. I like the old logo better. I feel like its more worldly and usable throughout different items, but that is just me. It is weird that they went backwards. Companies like Target, nike, ect lost the words with their logo and aiddas gained it back. All in all very cool!
