Android Jones

Digital Illustration Artists

                        A Little Bio:

Android Jones is currently at the helm of digital art and software manip-
ulation. His has been recognized as, "a wave of artists who emphasize -
creativity as the foundation of consciousness and an agent of social cha-
nge." Android specializes in combining the technical aspects of art hist-
ory while extruding the boundaries of imagination with new technolog-
ies. His works urge viewers to become aware of their conscious, and re-
alize the accelerating changes in our world. Jones has contributed to m-
any media outlets such as film, video games, and to building communi-
ties such as www.conceptart.org and www.dreamcatcher.net. His works
have also been a spectacle at distinguished events such as Burning Man
                        and Boom.

                          Software Programs used by Android:

For anyone out there, or in this class, who is interested in a career pa-
th involving digital illustration--Jones is one inspiration to follow. He
has manipulated many software programs and has expanded the abil-
itites of them--not only for himself--but for others out there. It is his
goal to inspire other artists to explore and discover the abilities of po-
pular and second rate design programs. Android is currently using the
programs entitled Painter, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Alchemy. For any
aspiring illustrators out there, these programs--if you haven't already
heard of them--might be a few avenues to check out. However, Ado-
be and all of their programs have great capabilites and urge you to e-
                          xplore them.

  1. I have to say, I am seriously envious of this guy's talent, not just because it looks absolutely amazing in itself, but the amount of detail he puts on most of his works are just mind blowing! I wish I could have half his patience to put so much intricate designs into a piece of artwork. I'm highly interested in digital illustration so this is definitely something that appealed to my interests. I really like the first two examples of how he twisted the human body and parts (like the giant eye) in an interesting and compelling design that to me screams out 'anatomically creative science' or something of the sort, I'm not sure what I'd title it, but those words really do come to my mind when I look at the second piece specifically, haha. Also, with the 4th image you can tell he likes to incorporate a lot of symbolism into human figures/features, etc. and that is one other great way to give meaning to his art. On the programs that you listed I only really knew one (Photoshop) so if I have time I will definitely check the other ones out.
