Coca-Cola Orange Juice Packaging

In light of our recent package design project I came across this and thought it was very interesting due to the fact that they made the individual packages interact with each other in that you need two cartons to have a full orange. I thought this was clever because not only does it draw the attention of the customers walking by but it makes the display feel more complete rather than just a bunch of individual cartons. Bravo Coca-Cola, bravo.

  1. I agree. I really like the design choice to make the multiple cartons on a shelf work together in a store setting to create interest by the shopper. Many may not realize that the design is split by the 2 seperate cartons until purchasing one as well! I wonder if this was also an incentive to get people to also buy more orange juice. You can;t complete the design without 2cartons, so buyers should buy 2 at a time instead of one? I'm sure that wasn't a mistake by a big company like Coca-Cola ..

  2. I agree. The idea of having the two boxes make a whole is genius. Not only does it look pleasing to the eye on the shelf but in a subtle way may inspire you to but more than one. The design still works well when the box is by itself. Which is key. I wonder if the orange wraps around the side possibly? That way even without buying two boxes you have the "whole" orange.

  3. Wow I never noticed that. I think it is very important for packaging designs not only look good by itself but together on a shelf as well. This creates interest and appeals to the costumers. Maybe even encourages them to buy more then one!
